Nannycatch Loop 2010 Race Report

The all new for 2010 Nannycatch loop proved to be a huge success for the 24 CFR juniors that braved the elements for their 7th Club championship race last Saturday. With the familiar territory of their training ground the local knowledge was always going to make this a superb race.

All three loops headed out and back on the track down to nannycatch gate, the U8 race was first off with Millie Park bringing a six strong pack back up the undulating track in a blistering 8.46, followed by Anna Mason in 9.36, the next four were within 3 seconds of each other, Olivia Fearon in 11.02, Louisa Graham in 11.03, Jemma Atkinson in 11.04 and Beau Walkinshaw in 11.05. Beau’s Brother Barnaby headed up the boys in 9.54, followed by Kyle Anderson in 9.30 and Charlie Hedley in 12.50.

In the U10 Girls race the only runner Olivia Mason was hot on the heals of the first U10 boy Zac Anderson, with only 7 seconds splitting the two, Olivia coming in at 7.55 and Zac in 7.48, second U10 boy in a very respectable 8.02 was Samuel Graham followed by Thomas Adams in 8.27 and in his first race Tim Outhwaite ran a well deserved 9.22

Next were the U12’s with all 4 girls back with just over a minute between them, Niamh Hedley was the victor in 13.57, followed by Bramble Park in 14.20, Cerys Atkinson in 14.44 and Rebecca Buchanan in 15.05. Kieran Riley was the only U12 boy taking top points in 14.56.

The long season coupled with the school holidays meant that the U14’s, U16’s and U18’s were a bit thin on the ground, Joseph Smith took the points in the U14 boys in a well ran 13.17. Alice Rea was the only U16 girl on the tougher course, but still managing a smile over the line in 18.56. Nathan Thompson ran a superb race to take the top U16 boys points followed by the fast finishing Jack Taylor to take second place in 18.14.
