The Depressed Fell Runner by An Injured Runner

Fell runnings "OFF" at the moment,
The knees won’t go atall,
The body aches all over,
Its driving me up the wall.

I’ve tried to do some swimming,
Cycling, walking un’all,
But none of these will substitute,
The sport that’s best of all.

The running kept me going,
And also kept me young,
But now I eat and laze around,
It’s no good for my tum.

My friends still go Fell Running,
And tell me what they’ve done.
I can only listen,
And wish that I’d done some.

I go to all the meetings,
Social nights as well,
And listen to the tales of woe,
The other injured tell.

So now I know, I’m not alone,
It helps to ease the pain,
The day will come, my knees will mend,
And I will run again.

My dearest wish,
It will come true,
I WILL be back up there,
And maybe with a bit of luck, I’ll be in front of YOU!
