London Marathon 2008

London Marathon Club Entries

We have three club entries for the 2008 London Marathon.

These entries will be allocated to club members who have been unsuccessful in their own application for a place in the London Marathon.

You must first apply as an individual for a place to the “London Marathon”.

If unsuccessful you will receive a letter of rejection from the race organisers. You should keep this letter and show it when applying for a club entry. This letter is your proof that you tried to enter yourself. A photocopy of a rejection letter will not do, it must be the original letter.

Should there be more than three applicants for the club entries, the names will be entered in a draw.

IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU UNDERSTAND THAT CLUB ENTRIES REMAIN THE PROPERTY OF THE CLUB AND ARE NOT YOURS TO GIVE TO ANYONE SHOULD YOU BE UNABLE TO RUN. IF YOU GET A CLUB ENTRY AND ARE INJURED OR ILL, YOU SHOULD RETURN THE NUMBER TO THE CLUB. There is a procedure for reallocating club numbers through the club to the London Marathon organisers.

All the names entered for a club entry will be drawn and recorded in the order they are drawn. In this way we will have a list of substitutes to reallocate numbers to should one of the first three ‘winners’ be unable to run. This reallocation must be done through the club secretary on the official reallocation form provided by “London Marathon”.

Should there be less than three applicants with rejection letters, any remaining positions will be entered into a draw open to all members using the same procedure as above.

Good luck everyone.

Jackie Winn - CFR Club secretary.
