Latterbarrow Loop Championship Race

A beautiful evening for CFR's Latterbarrow Loop - this year a CFR Championship race.

On the start line, there was a little history lesson of the River Man and River Belle trophies (donated by Irving Block). They were later awarded to CFR's Sophie Noon and local farmer George Crayston for being first male and female to sprint the 800m to the Calder River and "thrash" through it to get to the other side.

George went on to win the overall race trophy and Sophie was first lady back, just behind her partner, Mark, who worked hard not to get beaten by her - effort well rewarded as he came in 1st CFR and 8th overall!

Club President Joss Naylor honoured us with his presence and kindly awarded the prizes. Joss also took the time to advertise his birthday adventure in support of the Brathay Trust - If you're free on 17th June this year Joss would love you to join him in running from Wasdale to Brathay - details and how to contribute can be found here.

Full race results here.

Many thanks to all the runners for supporting the race - and especially the marshalls, helpers and cake-bakers!
