CFR Championship 2008

There are 13 races in the 2008 CFR Club Championship, 4 short, 5 medium and 4 long. To qualify for a prize, members must complete at least 6 races. You may therefore qualify without completing a long category race.

You may, or more likely may not, remember that last year I promised to produce results based on age related handicaps. The handicaps are shown below. Basically your actual time is multiplied by your handicap to produce a corrected time which is used to determine the points that you score. The handicaps are equivalent to 40 seconds per hour for every year from 40 years old.

I did say that the points scored would be based on the percentage difference between the lowest corrected time and your corrected time, but I have found that this gives wildly varying scores when the winning time is exceptional, ie usually when Jackie is running.

I have therefore based scores on the average corrected time of all the CFR runners in the race and given this a value of 50 points. Your points are the percentage difference between your corrected time and this average time, added to or deducted from 50.
